N I K Ø T E N E: “Lost With Me” refines things to a delicate art

EDM duo, N I K Ø T E N E, is made of two independent artists. Founder Chris Scott from Nashville, TN, who has worked with some A-league professionals such as Josh Abraham (Justin Bieber, Flo Rida, Ciara, Kelly Clarkson, Linkin Park, 30 Seconds to Mars, ), Ryan Williams (Paramore, Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against The Machine, Deftones), Jason Flom (Coldplay, Katy Perry, Paramore, Lenny Kravitz, ), Chris Lord-Alge (Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Prince), and new member, and fellow producer, Erik Schemonia. The duo have been garnering fans since they started releasing a series of singles in 2018. This year, they continued to fuel the flame with some more releases, including ‘Fired Up’, “How I Do”, “From the Floor”, and their latest single, “Lost With Me”, out now.

Some may say that N I K Ø T E N E are heading towards being one of the next big music sensations when it comes to the EDM genre. Having even written songs for TV and Film in the past the duo specialize in making very dynamic, yet familiar Dance music. EDM music is often criticized for being all the same.

There’s so many artists out there trying to replicate the successes of their peers that they forget to forge their own style, and simply follow what seems to work. One duo that do things differently, though, are N I K Ø T E N E – they manage to bring their own signature style to each of their songs.

Continually progressing forward, release after release, the duo of Chris Scott and Erik Schemonia have comfortably stepped outside their own bounds, while beautifully straddling the line between their unique sound and the commercial market, the perfect recipe for success.

And on “Lost With Me”, they have refined things to a delicate art.  The track moves in a familiar direction, sporting the bouncing synth lines, a soulful melody, and catchy vocals that listeners have come to expect from the genre.

Overall “Lost With Me”, a mid-tempo fusion of intimate pop and elegant dance, meets every expectation, while achieving every goal it probably set out for – moving crowds, clubs, and festivals, all the while having the potential to climb every popular chart, all the way to the top.

The great thing about this track is that even though it’s obviously pop-infused, it still manages to offer something that sounds unique and different from the typical EDM-Pop tracks that flood the charts today.

It’s not that N I K Ø T E N E ignore the popular and winning EDM-Pop templates, they just seem to develop them in a classier way than many of their counterparts. Proving that they have plenty of sonic tricks up their sleeves. There are a few things that standout to me, on this recording.

One naturally being the duo’s excellence in production and songwriting. While the incredible vocal chops that progress from whispery vocals into powerful hooks, as well as the throbbing and energetic synths, is enthralling.

Honestly, there’s nothing much more to say about “Lost With Me”, besides the fact that it’s an absolutely awesome electronic-pop joint.  N I K Ø T E N E have outdone themselves here, and they have every reason to be thrilled about this one.
