Malaysia’s Quan Yao Lim Has Been Hired as Cybersound Studio’s New Composer, Producer and Sound Engineer

BOSTON, MA – Malaysian musician Quan Yao Lim will be working alongside Perry Geyer, who has hired him to be the composer, producer and sound engineer at Boston’s famed Cybersound Studios.

Perry Geyer is the owner and founder of Cybersound Studios and one of the most respected producers in the music industry, has hired Quan Yao Lim to be the studio’s composer, producer and sound engineer. This should come as no surprise, given Mr. Lim’s musical accomplishments in Malaysia and the United States.

Prior to this, Mr. Lim already had an impressive resume. While in Malaysia, he distinguished himself as one of Malaysian music industry’s most sought-after performers, producers and composers. On multiple occasions, he had major performances at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre, for which he composed, arranged and performed music with his band ‘No Such Thing’ and as part of the ICOM Celebration Concert Series. Mr. Lim worked with acclaimed Malaysian bassist and music director Khairul Aiman on his single “Everything.” He was also a featured performer, composer and arranger at several other prestigious events, including the Rainforest World Music Festival and the International Miss VSAM Beauty Pageant.

After moving to the United States to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Mr. Lim continued to create great music. His single “Falling for You,” which featured vocalist Angela Rodriguez was a great success and was praised by Jamsphere Magazine. He also composed the song “In Your Embrace,” in a collaboration with international recording artist Kiri Tse.

Given Quan Yao Lim’s accomplishments in both Malaysia and the United States, it’s no wonder that Perry Geyer tapped him to compose and produce music for Cybersound Studios, who’s clientele includes The Cars, Jon Carin of Pink Floyd, the Jonas Brothers, Sarah MacLachlan, MTV, ESPN, Disney, BMW, Apple Computers, Universal Records and Warner Bros.

With Cybersound Studios, Mr. Lim will continue building his resume. He will be working with recording artists Yuki Kanesaka, Aaron Mattes, Rob Whitaker and Justin Sheriff. Mr. Lim will also be working on recording projects for Runkeeper and the Museum of Fine Arts.

 In addition to his work with Geyer, while in the United States, Mr. Lim will be using his expertise in the studio and on stage with other distinguished artists and organizations. Michael John Mollo has hired Mr. Lim to compose music for Velvet Green Music, a company who works with Universal Studios, Fox Sports, Dreamworks and CNN. He will be composing music for Soya Soo, an award-winning composer who worked on the film “Despicable 3,” and Corliss Lee, another award-winning musician who has worked with Universal Music Malaysia and Downtown Music Publishing. The international electronic composing duo IRIS has also hired him as their mixing engineer.

Quan Yao Lim is an international artist who has made a name for himself in Malaysia and is doing the same in the United States. Through Cybersound Studios and the other high-profile artists that have agreed to hire him, there is no doubt that his work will make a tremendous impact on the music industry in the United States.
