Mary Opara – A voice made for praising God!

Born and raised in London, Mary Opara completed her early education in England and Nigeria, where she attained a Bachelor of Arts in Education college degree. She has been living in the US since 1991 where she obtained a BSN, and completed a Master’s degree in nursing. Raised in a Christian family with loving parents and four other siblings, Mary is also a singer and songwriter who took a hiatus from music to build her own family and raise her four children. Currently residing in Atlanta, Mary Opara has her latest singles, “No Longer Slaves” and “Father, Please Hear Me” available for download on all major distribution channels.

The fact that these album from Christian artist, Mary Opara, are excellently written, produced, mixed, and performed, is second only to Mary’s amazing and uplifting lyrical content. If you want to be moved deep down in your very soul, plug in your headset, close your eyes and hit play, then worship along with Mary.

She has a voice made for praising God. At times soft and smoky, and at others powerful enough to create a storm, these tracks are chock full of worship and praise. From the moment you press play on the first of the two singles, “Father, Please Hear Me”, her depth and emotion are very, very moving. Mary’s lyrics really uplift and clearly come from true life experiential strength.

“Father, please hear me / Lord please, please forgive me / I’m trying to sin no more / Lord, you’ve been faithful, so please don’t ever leave me / Please redeem me, for things that I’ve done wrong,” she sings on “Father, Please Hear Me”.

Her voice is rich and strong, encouraging you immensely through her testimony, reminding you that you are not alone, and that nothing should get in the way of God’s love, grace, forgiveness, and sovereign purposes for your life. The voice, the lyrics, and the arrangement of the instruments, combine to sooth your soul and encourage you.

Her latest single “No Longer Slaves” sounds even more committed, as Mary sings: “I am no longer a slave to fear, I am a child of God”. Mary Opara delivers excellent vocals without a doubt, with the exquisite nuances and subtleties in her voice, but the real joy comes from the spirit of life that pours out of each song narrative in progression.

They’re scriptural, and above all they are motivating and spiritually stirring. Mary’s music is melodic, soothing, and vitalizing enough to feel revived as you go throughout your day. I believe this was her intention in creating these tracks, certainly led by the Holy Spirit.

In a world of pop music “all about me, my, and mine”, it’s so refreshing to find an artist with lyrics so deep, so pure, and so straight from the heart of God. Mary Opara delivers with a beautiful, unique vocal quality, and amazing projection to hit the soul-searching notes. She sets herself apart with her abilities, there’s no fluff here at all. Her songs are powerful, well-written and beautifully presented, with succinct and potent spiritual messages.
